Exist Code Camp Cebu will conclude today — it’s another impressive celebration and we’d like to salute all of the participants of this leg for a job well done!
What’s also exciting is that people are already applying for the next camp!
When we started this training program about 5 years ago, the objective was just to fill in our engineering pool. There is more to it than that!
ECC is probably one of our longstanding CSR programs that ties to Exist’s vision of producing world-class Pinoy technology innovators. It’s a test bed, obviously, and to survive it you got to have both spirit and skills. Think: Master Chef.
ECC helps to produce a higher ratio of qualified engineering experts. We’ve noted that big difference in what’s being taught in the academe and what’s being applied in real software development projects and that’s were ECC comes in — to help fill that gap. The program’s been quite successful, considering that we’ve been able to deploy graduates to projects immediately.
BUT has ECC helped the community? Terence, a recent graduate, swears it’s the most stressful software development training program but still the BEST one.
I’d like to give cheers to the organizers, participating schools in the Visayas and Mindanao regions, and again to the participants! May you always have the willingness to explore your curiosity, to risk failure, and to imagine things that seem far away from where you are today.
